Welcome to the emerging Nanoelectronic Devices Research Laboratory (eNDR Lab) at School of Physics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram. We are a group of experimentalists on Applied Condensed Matter Physics consisting of Ph.D., BS-MS major and minor, external major and summer visiting students. Our research group is involved in the fabrication and characterization of thin film devices using promising and emerging nanomaterials, which includes organic semiconductors, two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), transparent amorphous oxides (TAOs), and varieties of quantum dots (QDs). Apart from the electronic and opto-electronic applications, we also engage in a meticulous way to study their plasmonic properties as a quasiparticle phenomena.
Our group members are experienced to work in an inert environment and cleanroom. Everyone is experienced with various experimental techniques, including spin-coating, lithography (e-beam and photo), e-beam evaporation, sputtering, atomic force microscopy (C-AFM and KPFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS and UPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Members are familiar with different digital multimeter, potentiostat, source measuring unit including parameter analyser for the electrical electrical characterizations. We are committed to develop reproducible, promising and emerging device applications that would have a wide contribution to society. Drawing inspiration from the words of Carl Edward Sagan, “Somewhere, something is waiting to be known”, we constantly strive to develop high performing nanoelectronic devices.
Presently, our group is focused to work actively on the areas like Thin Film Transistors (TFTs), Plasmonics, Memristors & Neuromorphic Devices, 2D Materials, Perovskite Nanomaterials, Quantum Dots, and Photovoltaics (PV).
